Na 15 jaar als micro biologische analist gewerkt te hebben, heb ik mijn passie gevolgd en me omgeschoold tot keramist. Na de technische keramiekopleiding de Crabeth College in Gouda in 1995 en de Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam in 2000 afgerond te hebben, heb ik in 2002 een keramiek atelier opgestart in Nederwetten. Sindsdien maak ik in mijn keramiek atelier mijn eigen werk, zowel functioneel als abstract organisch werk. En ik geef mijn passie door aan anderen, zowel aan kinderen als aan volwassenen met mijn lessen, zowel in mijn atelier als bij enkele kunstinstellingen.
Statement
“Ik maak eenvoudige abstracte beelden die een organische vorm hebben, die zich in kleine verschillen in vorm en kleur van elkaar onderscheiden. Elk beeld heeft zijn eigen sfeer en geslotenheid, te samen vormen ze een groep die een geborgenheid en veiligheid in zich heeft. Het deel uitmaken van een gelijkgezinde groep waarin ieder individu zich kan uiten, is een terugkerend thema in mijn werk.”
After 15 year working as a medial analyst I followed my passion and retrained me as a ceramist. After finishing the technical ceramist education The Crabeth College in Gouda in 1995 and the Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam in the year 2000, I started in 2002 my Ceramic Atelier in Nederwetten. Since then I make my own work, functional as abstract organic. And I give my passion to others, both children as adults in my lessons. As well in art centre as in my own studio.
Statement
Paula Groote-Versteegen makes a variety of simple abstract shapes in organic forms. They are all slightly different in form and colour. Each form has its own mood and cosiness. Together they form a group for security and safety. “Taking part of a similar-minded group where every individual can express him-/herself is a recurring theme in my work.”
